Dog Behaviour Consultation
We just wanted to drop you a few lines to let you know we are very happy with Woody’s progress. We have had a lot of good experiences in the past month, Woody is off lead every day again and good walks are the norm now. This is amazing compared to our frustrations just a few months ago, where daily walkies where far from smooth.
While we are very confident with him in our big park which is not very crowded with dogs, we were always dreading taking him to Hampstead Heath again where there is an abundance of dogs on a daily basis. However, yesterday we met with friends in Hampstead Heath, it was a lovely sunny afternoon, so every dog seemed to be in the park. After all the positive experiences we have lately had with Woody, we thought we would give him a chance off lead and pop him back on the lead if he misbehaves. I am happy to say we had a very very smooth 2 hours walk off lead, which admittedly, we didn’t really expect. Needless to say we were super happy, Woody was super happy (and very exhausted 🙂 and we reflected on the past few months.
We want to say thank you for helping us understand him better and work towards what makes us and him happy (mostly off lead walkies!)
We know the training and guidance doesn’t stop now that we have him off lead again, Woody needs boundaries for obedience and training for his mental outlet and we will keep the work up.
I recently started doing nose work with him, which he absolutely loves and is a great way of stimulating his brain. Next year we will hopefully look to join agility training classes.
Again, thank you for your help. We will finally get around to ordering your book too! Really looking forward to reading it.
